Fathers day in Italy always falls on the day of San Giuseppe (Saint Joseph, who was the Virgin Mary’s spouse), 19th March every year. So for all those fathers who are called Giuseppe, it’s a double ‘festa’. This festivity is very ancient: apparently, it was first celebrated around 1030 A.D.

A traditional sweet that is prepared is the Zeppole of San Giuseppe. A pastry deep-fried in oil and then filled with cream and topped with a cherry.

This year we have made the zeppole in 2 sizes with the following fillings:

Pistachio, Ricotta with cinnamon, Custard, Lemon cream, Chantilly cream, Chocolate and Hazelnut.
